Bracket
A daily guessing game · bracketguess.com · Live
Bracket is a daily trivia game I built. Five questions a day, every answer is a number. The twist is you don't guess the number. You guess the range it falls in.
Drag the two ends of the gauge to set your bracket and lock it in. One shot per question. If the answer lands inside, you score, and a tight bracket pays up to 400. Go wide and you're safe but you barely score. Miss and you get nothing. It resets at your local midnight.
A real round of the game. Click it to play today's puzzle.
How a guess works
Say the question is how tall the Eiffel Tower is, in meters. You're pretty sure it's around 300. You could play it safe at 100 to 600, or bet on yourself at 290 to 340.
Both brackets contain the answer. Only one of them was worth the risk.
Why I made it
Most trivia is binary. You either know the answer or you don't. Bracket rewards something closer to how engineers actually think: you rarely know the exact number, but you can usually put good bounds on it. The game is really about calibration. How sure are you, and are you willing to bet on it?
It's also just a fun thing to do with your morning coffee. One puzzle a day, five questions across different categories, and a countdown to the next one.
